It was a sunny day...

It was a sunny day on Saturday when we set off to Hunter Hill Alpaca Farm.  A day trip with our grands is always fun and even better when the sun is shining!

Alpacas are such sweet animals...

They are inquisitive...

Friendly...

This alpaca was a sweetie!

Lunch at a Mexican restaurantwas needed...and then...

then it was time to visit the Timexpo Museum in Waterbury, CT.  To be honest, I was so busy looking around I hardly took any photos. But this huge Mickey Mouse watch was wonderful!  It was hand painted and very impressive.

Mickey Mouse had many incarnations on various  wristwatches watches. I have four vintage watches I wear myself...two Minnie and two Mickey.

There many characters I loved...especailly the Alice in Wonderland watch...a favorite of mine as a child.

It was a fun day with happy memories.  I would love to have an alpaca as a pet, but we live in town on a small plot of land so I think it is out of the question!  But, they never fail to make me smile!

How was your holiday weekend?  We had a very relaxed weekend. We are not into shopping very much but we happened to be passing one of our favorite stores and I took a few photos...but will save that for the next post!

It's sleeting and snowing here today. Winter is really almost here!  Whatever your weather, sunny or not,

enjoy the day!

One of the joys of summer is visiting fairs and festivals. We love the Massachusetts Sheep and Woolcraft Fair in Cummington, MA. Sheep, alpacas, and llamas are on display and it is a hands-on, family friendly event. There are competitions, workshops, food booths and so much to see...especially the very sociable sheep.

The fiber artists have dazzling displays of goods for sale and one can purchase every manner of tool required for spinning or knitting.

Weekend memories...so good! As always,

enjoy the day!

Two hours old...

This sweet little alpaca baby was just two hours old when we took this photo.

We stopped by Six Paca Farm on our way to Mystic Aquarium. We were graciously invited to see the new born and spend some time with the alpacas. The grands had a great time and so did we!

It is amazing how sweet and gentle these animals are. The mother didn't mind at all that we were around. Other inquisitive alpacas came by to visit, too. The little one was wobbly but pretty curious, too.

The day started with alpacas but more adventures will follow in the next few days: Beluga whales, penguins and other such stuff on a warm and sunny day.

It is unseasonably warm here in Southern New England. It feels like summer. There are no leaves on the trees yet, so it can be quite warm in the sun.

Whatever your weather, wherever you are,

Happy Monday...

...enjoy the day!

Gotta love'em!

Good morning, Monday!

On our way to somewhere else, we stopped by Six Paca Farm. There were a few alpacas outdoors enjoying the sun and the snow. This one was particularly inquisitive and sociable. They seem to be perpetually smiling and they make me smile, too. The yarn produced from their coats is so soft and lovely.

We had all sorts of weather over the weekend ranging from bitter cold to snow flurries to rain. Most of the snow has melted and the rain will take care of the rest.

How was your weekend? What's on your plate for today? I am immersed in projects and also have commissioned dolls to work on.

Happy Monday...

...enjoy the day!

Beyond cute...

Over the weekend we visited an open house at Hunter Hill Alpaca Farm. It was so much fun! We took the grands and they loved these beautiful animals. There were refreshments and a place to shop and they both left with plush alpacas in their arms. They really wanted to take home a real alpaca and so did we!

If you have ever spent any time around alpacas you know they are beyond cute. They are gentle, inquisitive, curious and seem to be perpetually smiling. I asked the owner what is the life expectancy for an alpaca and it is around 20 years. They make a wonderful pet, but they are like potato chips...you can't just have one!

On another note, I finished up all the projects for holiday sales and delivered them, so now it is time to do HOUSEWORK and work on Christmas gifts. Yes, there are dolls, drawings and painting in the mix.

Where are you in your holiday plans? Have you shopped? Have you made anything? Have you donated anything? Are you traveling?

Time to start the day so for now,

Enjoy the day!
