Time to wrap up my NYC Christmas experience! A week later I am still thinking about NYC during the holidays...a unique experience.
Contemporary mannequins
were everywhere...
A visit to Times Square...
Characters of all types
available to pose with...
for a fee of a dollar!
Times Square might be "improved"
but I think it is mundane
compared to what it once was...

My only purchases
were from Tinsel Trading
and the mid-town
Anthropolgie.
Big box stores abound...
the kind around here...
the kind around here...
so my creative shopping was limited.
(So was my budget!)
The next day, back in CT,
my own wares
were up for sale
at a lovely show.
Looking around NYC is always fun and always inspiring. But, it is not the shopping place I once loved. Mid-town is really getting to be middle-of-the-road. I am a rare old bird...I liked it better decades ago...I miss the tiny boutiques, the exciting garment district and my old haunts.
Nevertheless, I still love going and I still love the city and am most grateful for the ability to go a few times a year...

Loved your NYC visit and it sure reminds me of seeing San Francisco at Christmas, when I was little, with my Mom!
I love your little finds...most especially the sweet little sheep. Your creations are wonderful...as far NYC....I think I should feel a bit swallowed up in a city so large...I think I would feel as though I had left the planet for another :) I haven't traveled much....I did pass through NYC years ago as a child but,don't have much memory of it...we drove all the way from Dallas Texas to Long Island to visit my aunt and uncle.I wish I could remember more about that trip....thanks for sharing ....blessings
An interesting perspective, Helen. Like Shelley, I think I would feel swallowed up in such a large city.
Is it possible that the boutique and unique aspects of the city have moved to other quarters? Perhaps Times Square has become a victim of its own success?
But for the brave and courageous, as yourself, how wonderful to go, and let us come along as well.

Oooh I too love the small boutiques for inspiration, they are a bit hard on the old wallet, but such wonderful air about them!!!!!!
