A cautionary tale...

It is true: there is clutter here. We live in a TINY house that is 101 years old. It is stuffed to the gills with collections, book, art supplies, etc. However, we are relatively organized and don't often lose things.

About a week ago I photographed Bjork the Bedbug. She was nestled in her bed...and then got up to play...

In the meantime, I was busy packing up donations for my doll club auction. I had been going through boxes and crates for weeks, "thinning out" as they say. Finally, everything was sorted and ready to go.

Monday morning I went to get Bjork and couldn't find her. (Wanted to take her to the auction and to the luncheon.)

Not worry, I thought, imagining I would find her when I got home. (She was not in the auction boxes.)

The next day I looked everywhere. Where could she be?

Tuesday...Wednesday...Thursday...no Bjork!

Last night I was going to empty a wastebasket upstairs. It was filled with papers from dolls I had unwrapped last week. Normally, I would have thrown the waste paper contents away on Monday but I forgot.

On a whim, I decided to take the paper out of the filled wastebasket. And, you guessed it! At the very bottom was Bjork!

Lesson learned: Don't panic. Keep looking. Don't throw away paper without looking!

If you are so inclined, you can also communicate with St. Anthony, the Patron Saint of Things Lost. (This was childhood ditty we all used...though it does seem irreverent in a sense now. It is usually effective to just say, "help!")

Tony, Tony,
look around.
Something's lost
and must be found!

Happy weekend! Hope you don't lose anything..but if you do, I hope you find it.

As always,

enjoy the day!

Your post gave me such a feeling of familiarity :-) Been there, done that. Now I have a prayer to use!
