High tech, low tech...

...what do do with your old laptop

I spotted these laptops in a window in Northhampton, MA. It was raining when I took the photos, so they are not as sharp as they could be. I didn't get the name of the shop. It sold computer supplies and was closed or I would have gone in and looked around. They were "high tech" but "low tech" at the same time.

It's maple syrup time here in New England, and, as we drove out of town, it wasn't long before we saw the maple trees ready to give up their sap. In the old days, there would have been charming cans attached to the trees that required being gathered individually.

Thing have changed. Now trees are strung with with plastic tubing and drain into common containers. We started laughing when we saw this, though. The piping was bigger than garden hoses and the vats were the size of refrigerators.

Definitely this was a case of "high tech, low tech." Modern technology has really made gathering sap much easier. On the other hand, if you could have seen the acres of hose, it was mind boggling.

We are still thinking about all the things we saw over the weekend. We are planning another trip soon.

In the meantime, I still have much to catch up with around here.
