The end of the trip...and then another!

We needed a "little something" that afternoon...so we headed to Carson's Store in Noank. It was established in the early 1900's and is as charming as it gets. Their sign that reads "ice cold ice" has always made us smile.  It had been a few years since we ventured in.

The authentic decor made us feel so nostalgic
for ice cream parlors of our youth...

Old drawings of cartoons adorn the walls...

Lovely watercolors, too...

So what kind of ice cream did we  have?  Chocolate chip mint!   A nice way to end the day and the weekend!

Well...we kept thinking about the weekend all week last week and decided..."let's go back again to Mystic Seaport... where we are members!"  There was an antique and vintage wooden boat show this past weekend and we were able to enjoy it before it started pouring.

(Yes, we have had rain and occasional days that are not as hot as they were. What a relief!)

Stay tuned for gorgeous boats that are nostalgic, luxurious...made with wonderful craftsmanship. Until then...as always,

enjoy the day!
