April 1...

April Fool's Day, Palm Sunday, the first of April...today is that day. Spring is here for sure. Daffodils and tulips, forsythia and magnolias...everything blooming at once and slightly out of order!

Yesterday my friend and I traveled to Massachusetts to  doll and teddy bear show. It was so much fun!  There is something about seeing dolls and bears from all eras gathered together in one space that is hard to describe.  One word that comes to mind is happy. Dolls are representative of history, fashion, play and fantasy.  If you are a collector, this washes over you like a soft warm wave of fuzzy feelings.

Nowadays I don't bring home anything but very small dolls or animals.  I am not a collector who buys expensive antiques--though I would love to if I could afford it.

So what came home with me?  More monkeys!  These two Steiff Jockos practically jumped off the tables into my arms. I tried to resist the small one but I went back three times to look at him.  Then I saw a bear designer whom I respect and mentioned it to her.  She came and looked and said I should get him...the price and condition were fantastic.  The bigger one was 1/3 of what they normally sell for, so I bought both for less than I would normally pay for one...and that made me very happy!  They are the HAPPIEST monkeys and now I think I have enough...how did this happen that these monkeys moved in?  Was I lucky or what? They certainly are a fun bunch!

The little doll house doll below I have been looking at for a decade I think. I finally bought one and am not sorry...the wool chick is an Easter ornament but was so lovely and inexpensive that it came home, too...

The little boy is a Little Reggie Doll. The artist who make them is a potter but makes these little dolls, too. You should see them all together..so much fun. She makes all their tiny clothes, too!

So, here it is...a delightful Sunday morning in April!  Hope that you are having a lovely weekend!  As always,

enjoy the day!
