We made it through...

It was a Northeaster and a big one.  We made it through.  We were part of the lucky ones.  We had no damage and didn't lose power.  The leaves are still on the trees, flowers still blooming...most leaves had not even turned colors yet.

Here is our neighbor's yard.  Large, heavy tree branches dropped straight down and made the earth rumble.  (Fortunately, it didn't come through any roofs.)

By now, everyone knows about the damage is New England.  Half of CT is still without power.  Businesses and schools are closed...no traffic lights working...you know the drill.

Despite that, we had over 100 "trick or treaters."  We could see all the mini-vans driving the kids around. The governor of our state asked that parents accompany kids and they did.  Most suburban towns canceled Halloween but we live in town and the streets were dry.  A Halloween to remember!

This has been a quite a year in New England.  We had massive winter storms and blizzards, a hurricane, an earthquake, a tornado, severe flooding and now we have had an historic snow storm in October.  The year isn't over yet...

Thanks to all who were concerned about us.  It feels good to know we have friends who care!

As always,

enjoy the day!

Helen, so good to hear that you and yours came through this storm safely. My thoughts and prayers for your fellow New Englanders that continue to struggle without power.

Be safe.

We´re having an unusual warm fall here, all the leaves should be gone/blown away by now, but they are still here...and no snow in sight....jippie!
