Another paper project...

This week my artist friend and I swapped little "carts." We were inspired by the work of Debrina Pratt ...and other mixed media/paper artists who incorporate "transportation" into their creations. We both used our own art work as we both are painters who like to play with paper in between painting!

This is mine...with my Hedgie character I have been using for years. I used spun cotton mushrooms, faux bark and real tiny acorns.

Here is Carol's...she chose a pastel palette and embellished hers with lace and trims.

We both used wooden spools for wheels and the carts are displayable from either side...the backs are finished and look cute...I just didn't take photos of the backs because my camera has ran out of batteries for the moment!

So, if you have a little gift box and some thread spools...give it a try. A candy tin would work... I think a tea cup would be nice on "wheels." How about a large match box? You can still find them in the grocery stores around here.

Sometimes the only way to stay above the to stay creative...stay positive. If you can't take a real trip at this time...and you need a can make a little getaway cart like we did!

So, with that in mind,

happy weekend

and enjoy the day!

What a wonderful idea! I am going to hop in, next to Hedgie, and ride with him to Fairyland in your getaway-cart!! I love both the carts and always think that it's terrific how you and Carol swap!
