Up on the roof...

I always liked this song by the Drifters written by Carole King:
"When this old world starts getting me down,
And people are just too much for me to face—
I climb way up to the top of the stairs
And all my cares just drift right into space ..."
So, I sang it as I hung my head out the window and conversed with Mr. Dollzand Thingz, who is making a cameo appearance today.

Our kitchen roof had more than a foot of snow on it and with temperatures below zero and more snow on the way, it was time to push it off the roof.
Meanwhile..

our street is getting and narrower and narrower. With more snow on the way, we are wondering where we will put it. That snow pile in front of the house is taller than I am.

We do get snow here but not so much at once like this year. A roof collapsed in a building in town and a woman was found frozen to death in a driveway a few miles from here. Warming shelters are open for the homeless and those who lose power.

Low temperatures ranged from zero to fifteen below zero, with wind chills ranging from -10 to -30 overnight. While that is not unusual in some places, it is unusual for here.

Such is life, such is winter this year. Time to stay inside and

enjoy the day!

Helen, I so hope for a return to normalcy for you soon! It is alos so terrible for those who don't have the proper shelter, and imagine even those who cannot shovel their roof!

(We paid some guys from Stowe the first year. They didn't finish, but wanted their cash that day. I don't think we gave them all of it, but it was the last we saw of them! We learned! Guess they had enough cash to go ski or whatever. :-)

Stay safe.

Stay warm and take care; and tell Mr. D&T to be careful on that roof!
