In the summertime....

I think the paper art I made yesterday for a swap describes this summer: HOT, HOT, HOT!

This past week a tornado passed through CT and caused some damage. It missed our town but we did have a torrential rain which we needed. Extreme weather...extreme summer...the air quality has been terrible, the humidity so thick you could cut it with a knife.

Have you stopped by Martha and Jane lately? The next installment of our fairy tale has been posted. The adventure continues!

Not sure what this weekend will bring. It appears that tomorrow may be yet another steamy hot day. Perhaps we will head to points north.

How are you spending your summer?
Have you been anywhere special? Have you coped with the heat? Has it affected your gardens?

On a positive note, the Earth Boxes that I put the pink flamingos in have flourished and we have a huge crop of grape tomatoes. Last year we had a huge crop of early tomatoes. Every night some animal would eat ONE bite out of the tomatoes and sometimes leave them on the deck railing. I think the pink flamingos have worked so far as elegant scarecrows!

Happy weekend, keep cool, and as always,

enjoy the day!

Grape tomatoes are my faves. We found cherry tomato sets and they are doing well in a pot on the deck, too.

I thought a tornado went through here. I guess a hold over memory from Dallas. The windows were open, 3 rooms were soaked because I'm forgetful of no a/c, and how is that since I am SO hot this year? There was quarter size hail for a few seconds, too.

A snow bank to jump into sounds heavenly right now. Can you go that far north? :-)
