Modes of transportation...

This past weekend we encountered all of these modes of transportation on the same day. We took a ferry across the CT River, rode the Essex steam train, and dined near a yellow cab with a hot dog trailer!

As you can see, it was quite humid. We are having August in June and it's quite uncomfortable. But the weather didn't stop us from enjoying the day.

Here it is: Friday again...HUMID, HOT and HAZY once again.

One thing I didn't mention is that I have poison ivy rash from yard work on Monday. Yes..it feels like late summer except summer doesn't start for a few more weeks...

As always,

enjoy the day

and happy weekend!

Oh H., I always enjoy the pictures of your weekend travels. If that is your gkids, (and even if they aren't) they are adorable.
Sorry about the poison ivy...David and just walk by it and get it...me hardly ever...I guess I'm just to mean for it to get me!!
Have a great weekend.
Oh and it's hot here too, and it's not even July...sigh.

Love the ferry Boat! We used to take the ferry from San Francisco over to Sausalito- brings back old memories! Hey- tell the kids not to pump so hard- they're not moving!!! Didn't anyone tell them that? That castle is Incredible!!! "CAMELOT"!!!

I love ferry boats too! Used to live in New York & I love the ferry between Staten Island & Manhattan as you get to see the Statue of Liberty for less than a dollar! Happy weekend from Tokyo!

Here in Britain we also have August in June so I guess we should enjoy it while it lasts as we don't know what August will actually bring (probably November here). Great trip. I've seen the self powered railway trucks (not sure what you call them) on your American movies and I've always fancied having a go. Hope the rotten rash has faded now. We don't have poison ivy in Britain...thank goodness. Have a good weekend. Eli.

I love riding through the country side on steam engine trains. We haven't done that since we lived in PA. At least my son was young. I wonder if he remembers it?

We may take the ferry to NY later this summer. Lake Champlain sounds a bit scary, but I have taken one to Martha' Vineyard.

Get well soon. Poison ivy, yuck!

Oh Yuck, Helen, poison ivy? That must feel even more uncomfortable with the heat. I love the look of your ferry boat. We ride the ferries here, fairly often, but ours aren't as charming to look at as yours.
