Treasures...

It was a hot and humid weekend: record breaking temperatures, high humidity, and very much like the dog days of August. We are wondering if we have gone straight to summer without stopping at spring!

Despite the heat, we were out and about. There was a doll show in another part of the state and I found a few treasures.

The baby is made from a silk stocking.
When my friend bought it,
she lent it to me and I copied it.
That was about a decade ago.
I have not seen the doll I made
for many years.
So, when I saw the original was up for sale,
I loved it as much as I did when my friend bought it.
It had to come home with me.

I spotted a decorative box with
millinery flowers on the lid.
I knew it was an oatmeal box
because
I remembered making boxes
like these many years ago.
It was only 25 cents!

It is filled with beautiful feathers for adorning doll hats!

It is incredibly humid this morning after a night of thunderstorms. I think I need to get the fans out today---and hope for a return to spring.

Tomorrow I will update you about Jane's travel's. Little Martha has been planning her arrival!

As always,

enjoy the day!

Oh I love the little silk baby! What a sweet find. I have never seen anything like her. I would have swept her up as well. So lucky you found the Original! And the oatmeal box is a kick! All those gorgeous feathers! I can't wait to see what you do with them.
Yes, get out the air conditioners- it's worth it, believe me!

I love that little baby doll too. It's the simplest things that are often the sweetest.

Sweet sweet itty bitty doll! She is precious.

It has been hot and humid in Central NJ as well and then rain, lots of rain!

Enjoy your new dolly!

Love that box of feathers; what a treasure!
The humidity this weekend was awful on my asthma! Good thing I have central air.
