Like older times...

It snowed the other day. As my husband was leaving for his morning commute, he snapped this photo in the street light.

It's dark for sure, but it exactly captures the mood of early morning around here. It reminds me of a very old post card. Admittedly, winter can be quite magical in this neighborhood.

Since the cars have to be off the street due to snow plowing, one cannot tell what decade this is. It looks the same on this street as it did 50 or more years ago. In fact, our own home celebrated its 100th birthday a few years back.

The snow has since melted a bit. Yesterday I walked a few blocks straight up hill to the post office and it was a lovely, sunny day. With the center of town decorated for the holidays, it felt like an old Christmas movie.

Happy Hanukkah to those who begin their holiday this evening.

Happy weekend....

and enjoy the day!

Such a beautiful photo! And it looks like you have a sidewalk in front of your house??!!! How charming is that! It really does remind me of a nostalgic old movie...It's a Wonderful Life or Meet Me in St. Louis. Do you have Christmas Carolers come around?

What a beautiful picture of your home. I'm soooo jealous of the snow. 100 years old. Wow!! Please tell me that it is well insulated and warm? All the older homes down here are very very lacking in the insulation department......
