Who knew...

that alpacas were so cute? We decided to go back and visit them here. The owner told us more about breeding them and we loved the shop. These were all girls and and very sociable and curious. If I thought goats looked like they were smiling, the alpaca appears to have a perpetual smile.

As you can see in the photos below, we lost the sunshine again. But, we found the loveliest, coolest country roads. Have you ever seen a fish ladder? This waterfall has one on each side of the road near the waterfall.

The cool weather leaves us today as the temperatures climb 30 degrees to the mid 90's. When we took these photos, it was in the low 60's.

My husband has joined me in taking photos and is far more adventurous than I when it comes to getting into locations. Abundant poison ivy has slowed me down this summer. It is huge and everywhere.

More photos to share in the next few days but for now it is back to the daily grind. The beauty of what we saw in the past week will remain in our heads and our hearts and we will be talking about the places we visited for a long time. We both prefer the natural world over other kinds of travel.

Happy Monday...

and enjoy the day!

The Alpacas are so adorable. They are kind of like Llamas, only much cuter. Love how their hair is cut. Wonderful photo of them looking out.

And the poison ivy IS bad this year! Hope you didn't get into it.

Aren't they the cutist. I love the big heads on long thin necks and tried to knit one to add to my sheepy flock but it resembled a giraffe I'm afraid. I'll have to have another go some time.

I want an Alpaca! They are just darling and I love how interested they all look (Typical females!) And I had to read about the fish ladders- never heard of such a thing! Amazing!
