All in a day...

Have you ever seen a sod farm? I have to admit I had never seen one. After leaving the bustling city of Providence, RI, we were soon out into the country and ambling towards home when we encountered miles of sod and these huge irrigation devices.

In the middle of the sod farm was this pretty little post office in an oasis of shade.

The marina in Mystic, CT was quite beautiful. Although it was in the 80's on land, it was a cool 68 and breezy on the water...a delight! Imagine traveling in that big boat? Well, it was not the largest in the marina, but it was quite pretty.

The sailing school was bustling on the Mystic river and the boats were floating like graceful ballerinas in the wind...a beautiful sight!

Summer is finally here. The sun and humidity that people were craving only a week ago has arrived. And you guessed...the perpetual complainers don't like that either. It seems that it is either too hot or too cold or too gray or too sunny or whatever. As for us, we have a few days off to ramble around the area we love so much. We are just happy to enjoy whatever the weather presents us!

Enjoy the day!

Have a great time, take lots of pictures so we can enjoy.
I'm a country girl, so sod farms kinda freak me out. I wonder what my grandparents would think about buying grass!! (the irrigation things remind me of the delta)
And another thing, when we were living in our old house, we bought a truck load of dirt for the front yard. I remember standing in the front yard and thinking, what is wrong with this picture? I'm a country girl, and if somebody had told me I would actually buy dirt--I would have told them they were crazy.

First of all, a HUGE Congratulations!!! for winning the bear from Peng Peng!!

And since you asked, we lived a mile away from a sod farm all my life.. in fact, my high school boyfriend worked there. Looked exactly like the one you showed.

Love the boats. Now that is one thing I never see.
