Monday, again.

As some of you may know, I have another blog. It was scheduled to disappear in February so I started this blog. As it turned out, nothing has happened with the old Yahoo blog.

In any event , I wrote the words below there this morning. I think the observations are worth writing here, too.

Watching Paint Dry

Ever hear the expression, "watching paint dry?" That was how we spent most of our weekend, literally and figuratively.

We painted the picket fence and the porch floor and did some other chores around the house. Our only foray out was to a family party in another part of the state. We couldn't help but notice there was very little traffic on the roads. Our guess is that with gasoline rising ten cents in one day, many people chose not to travel. It rose from$4.19 to $4.29 overnight. Near the NY border it was $4.69. Watching paint dry will become a national past time, I think.

In some sort of energy and cost saving effort, flyovers by jets were replaced by flyovers with Chinook helicopters. Two, not one, rattled the windows here. I had no idea they were so economical to operate.

In any event, it is raining today and the paint is dry and the week awaits.

Enjoy your day.

This is so true about the gas. I think many people will be staying home more now, and maybe finding different forms of entertainment. We may need to visit places on our computers more.. it costs so much to travel.
Loved your three little darlings in yesterday's post.

There's a little something for you on my blog, you can pick it up anytime. :)

We mostly stayed home this weekend too. It is interesting to watch Americans beginning to change their lifestyles again because of the gasoline prices. I remember the shortages of the 70's and the way that carpooling and smaller cars became commonplace. Perhaps, some permanent good will eventually happen, and our dependence on oil will become a thing of the past.

I've so enjoyed looking at your tiny dolls again today. I'm rather in awe of them. I especially love the little one in the blue spoon. What patience you must have!
