Summer...you go by too soon!

Summer is speedy traveler.  Where do the long days go?  It's really not over until September on the Autumnal Equinox but with the start of school in late August here, the yellow school buses will make it over whether it really is or not!

We have had hot humid weather without rain but the past few days have been really delightful:  dry, sunny, breezy, no smog, no haze.

Here are some "snapshots" of recent visited places...
where have you been this summer?

Swap stuff...as usual!

I would show you my lovely deck garden but the pugnacious neighborhood squirrels ate the tops off the flowers, unearthed roots and nibbled through several cacti.  They are well fed  by our neighborhood so I am not sure what is up with that!  There are many babies and many squabbles while they are invading! They don't like oregano but parsley and basil seem to be faves.  We keep birdbaths filled with water for them but I think they might look for the moisture within the plants they demolish.

Hope you are having a fine summer!

Until next time!

As always,

enjoy the day!

Soggy spring days...

As usual, the weather continues to be an adventure.  Spring has been so delightful that I will not complain.  However, we have moved into humid weather much like middle of summer. Some mornings, I open the deck door and think I am on an island in Maine due to the fog! The leaves are fully open and the lilacs blessed us with an abundance of fragrance as did the lily-of-the valley.

No, this isn't the sea shore in Maine...
it is the harbor in downtown New Haven.

You know it is spring when the
Amistad reappears after
a winter of rest....

Art projects and drawings continue to occupy my time.  Housework is never-ending. The days  go by way to quickly these days...always something to do or see or make.

Although we have been all over New England recently, I have not been taking may photos. I refuse to get a smart phone for now.. Sometimes it is good just to be un-wired and away from things electronic and just soak it all in.

The weekend lies ahead.  Looks like a rainy one here which is good because we can use the rain. My heart goes out to those who have suffered the effects of the volatile weather throughout the USA.  This summer may prove to be a difficult summer and we hope that all stay well and safe.

Happy Memorial Day,
if you celebrate it...

and as always,

enjoy the day!
