Of Gnomez and Thingz...

As some of you readers know, my friend and I do a weekly art project. (This is aside from any other art we might personally do doing the week.) It keeps us challenged and from getting too lazy artistically.

We both pass by a picket fence with fanciful ladies painted on the pickets.  We decided to try our hand at some fanciful pickets ourselves.  Here is the one I painted.

It would be fun to do a whole picket fence this way but also a whole lot of work! I enjoyed his smile while he was here!

Gnomes appear from time to time in my life.
This guy I made from spun cotton...

Sometimes they manifest themselves in needle felt figures...

And sometimes they are little drawings...
why is it that gnomes can be so appealing?

Meanwhile the heat wave continues throughout most of the USA... and also in other places. How is the weather where you are? It has been very humid and hot in southern New England.

Thanks for dropping by on this summer day. If you were here, I would offer you something cold to drink and some fruit salad... or a cup of tea and a cookie...whichever you prefer!

 As always,

enjoy the day!

What a fantastic idea. We don't have too many picket fences here in the UK but I'm sure we could do with a few smiling gnomes around the place. I've seen your intense heat on our TV news bulletins. Such a contrast. Apparently it's all to do with the jet stream. You are below it and we are above it and therein lies the problem (wish someone could shift it!)

I love the picket, as well as the challenge you and your friend do. What a terrific way to stay creative!
