Thinking outside the box...

Ever since the new year, I have been taking it easy!

I have been blogging  for so many years...several years on Blogger and several years  before that on a defunct blogging site.  Honestly, I have never taken such a long break. Instead of writing in my own blog, I have been busy visiting other blogs and  frittering away my time!

As usual, my friend and I have been exchanging art.  Here is an elephant assemblage I gave her for Christmas...made from a jar and a purchased papier mâché elephant. That mushroom under glass was a gift from a friend

In the past few weeks we decided to explore altering thrift store doll and making them into art dolls. I made these two below...from dolls that were not in good condition. They were both under $2 with ratty hair.

Sometimes it is a challenge to think outside the box and envision things in different ways.  I am glad I can do this... and love to explore different concepts.

In the fall I started going to the gym 5 times a week and that takes up time, too.  I really like it and wish I has started sooner.

Have you done anything new this year?  Have you started any projects?  Have you made...or broken...resolutions?  Are you hibernating?  If you are, don't forget to get outdoors a little while every day.

We are expecting snow tomorrow.  We had a storm that delivered two feet in October and nothing since but  an inch or two here and there.  It hasn't felt like winter but it does now!

Have a good weekend, and as always,

enjoy the day!

It feels like spring here...I have to stop and think sometime just what season we are in now. I kinda miss winter though :) The dolls you created are very different and unique. I have so many projects in mind to do but, right now I am mainly crocheting and reading. I spent some time out on my porch today enjoying the sunshine and spring like weather..the mosquitoes were even biting at dusk...and bugs circling the guard light...you might even think it a summers evening. Blessings dear friend..
