A day in New Haven...

One of the pleasures of living where we live is the fact we can be in NYC or Boston in about 2 hours.  But there is a also beautiful city just ten minutes drive from here....New Haven, Connecticut.

Sometimes it's fun to spend the day visiting galleries, window shopping, having lunch and just walking around.  Over the years I have really come to enjoy the city and its architecture.

This is the Yale Repertory theater below...

The Yale campus takes up a great deal
of the downtown area
and the architecture
is dazzling.

The Yale Art Gallery is under renovation
and will double in size soon.

 This haunting installation
is part of the
"Remembering 9/11" exhibit.
Notice how the figures are looking up.

Today I will be thinking of the great art I saw yesterday. There was a Pollack that was on display that was not shown until recently.  Many other works are on display that have been in storage.  What a feast for the eyes!

Every time I visit a museum or gallery, I cannot wait to create something.  If you are ever needing inspiration, this is a good way to get inspired.  But, even if you can't visit in person, you can visit most major galleries of the world online.

Back to housework and laundry...but will be thinking of all that I saw!

As always,

enjoy the day!
