It's all about the hat...

It is all about the hat...

A few months ago, April (Gramma at Martha and Jane) and I saw these amazing mushroom hats online. It has turned into a running joke. April made this pin for my birthday last month and I just love it. It will reappear from time to time, I am sure.

Meanwhile, the hat has become a symbol of pure whimsy and humor! Even Hitty and Jocko got into the act!

Do you wear hats? We all wear them metaphorically but I actually wear hats in every season. I remember when everybody wore hats daily...men and women alike.

Speaking of Martha and Jane, have you entered our giveaway? You could win this kitty!

Autumn has been interrupted here by another blast of summer. Fortunately, it isn't as hot as it is some places where it remains in the 90's.

Hope you have a lovely weekend... and as always,

enjoy the day!

HAHAHA!!! I was laughing out loud when I saw Jocko in his NEW HAT!!!! So CUTE!!!
My Mom and Dad ate out a lot in the 30's and 40's. My Dad was in Restaurant Equipment so they installed many restaurant kitchens in San Francisco. Afterwards, my folks would go out for dinner in those same restaurants. In every photo, my Mom is wearing a hat! So cute- some have little veils but most do not. The only hat I wear is a green canvas type, from the military supply store, when I walk the dogs- keeps out the sun and gives the neighbors a Good Laugh!

The only hats I have ever worn was back when I was little...you know those little Easter bonnets.
I look terrible in hats....and besides, I can rarely get one to fit my head. Most times even baseball caps won't fit my big head..even with the snap in the last place...but I do like to collect those vintage hats ladies used to wear in the 50s. I have several that decorate the powder room.
Hope you have a great weekend.
Oh and when I got in my car this afternoon--the outside temp read 103!!! But at least it is not as humid.
