The dollz have an outing...

Patiently waiting
for tea and cookies

Jocko, Edie, and Hitty

Once a month I attend a UFDC doll club meeting in a wonderful mansion that is open to the public for rental for meetings. We spend the better part of a day at a business meeting, having a light luncheon, enjoying a program and sharing our dolls.

Doll collecting is studying history...and fun. I have learned so much from collecting. We have twenty seven members in the club and every member collects a different type of doll. There are exquisite antiques that are major investments: bisque, porcelain, china and wood. Some, like me, collect mostly cloth. But, we all collect dolls we just cannot resist and have that in common.

Hannah, Pollyanna, Edie, Hitty and Jocko came with me. Jocko was my purchase in VT. He is missing his Steiff button but he was too darling to leave behind and the price was just right for my budget. (I only collect what is in my budget...and that budget is tight.)

Summer has slipped back here despite the fact today it is actually autumn now. Hazy, hot, humid ...

What do you collect?

Time to get moving here... as always, dear reader,

enjoy the day!

I have really enjoyed visiting you here....I guess you could say I am not a serious doll collector but,I do love dolls of many kinds and have a collection of different ones. Raggedy Ann is special to me and baby dolls are a favorite as well. I adore the ones from the 60's as that was my childhood years but, older ones are a favorite too and even a few of the newer ones...I just love dolls...what more can I say:)...I have thought many times about joining a local doll club or even starting my own....that however is still a thought....blessings...

Lucky you. The doll club sounds great. Not sure who has the most fun, humans or dolls!!

What a pleasant club you belong to. Still playing with one's toys is a wonderful thing. Jocko doesn't know how fortunate he is to have fit into your budget.
